Bangladesh Jatiya Dal (BJD) Unveils “Vision 2030” Reform Agenda — Chairperson Shompa Islam Calls for a Democratic and Prosperous Future
Dhaka, Bangladesh — Bangladesh Jatiya Dal (BJD) today officially launched its “Vision 2030” reform agenda, designed to accelerate national development, restore democratic governance, and ensure social justice across Bangladesh.
The reform plan was announced by BJD Chairperson Shompa Islam, Mrs. Islam is currently in political exile in Germany due to life threats under the former regime of Sheikh Hasina. Despite her exile, she continues to lead BJD’s organisational activities and policy direction internationally.
Shompa Islam’s Statement
“Our vision is simple — a prosperous, fair, and united Bangladesh. Vision 2030 is not just a political document; it is a national call for action. It lays the foundation for inclusive growth, equal opportunity, and democratic governance. Every citizen, regardless of class, gender, or background, must be part of the nation’s journey forward,” said Mrs. Islam during the announcement.
Key Pillars of Vision 2030
- Economic Growth — Strategic investment in rural infrastructure, youth entrepreneurship, and export competitiveness.
- Education Reform — Nationwide digital literacy, updated curricula, and global-standard education systems.
- Healthcare for All — Expansion of affordable healthcare, particularly for low-income families.
- Strengthening Democracy — Transparent governance, anti-corruption reforms, and stronger local government.
- Social Justice & Equality — Gender empowerment, workers’ rights, and farmer protections.
- Global Engagement — Diaspora inclusion through BJD’s international platforms.
- Rule of Law — Judicial independence and protection of human rights.

Looking Ahead
The launch of Vision 2030 comes ahead of BJD’s national membership drive beginning next week. The party calls on all citizens to join hands in building a new Bangladesh based on justice, equality, and democracy.
